These first two sketches are from before I went
and had that little chat a thinkspace.
with the first one, I was trying to force a background
into the composition.
It felt really cramped forced,
so I decided to leave the background airy,
and just focus on the creature.
...and then I went to Thinkspace.
I'm trying to push the composition
further and further back.
I think I'm happiest with the middle one (above)
But I have to wait a few weeks before I can work on it again.
August is here, and I'm going to attempt
two figure paintings (august and September) this month.

p.s. I've been wanting to paint this creature since february.
