tonight, Dulce de Leche 

will be playing a free show at Taix (a french restaurant)

In Echo Park. The show starts at 1030 pm. 

I made this flyer in 20 minutes in photoshop.

After I closed the psd file (and didn't save it)

I realized the top two band names were really hard to see.

It says Sister Rogers and Dulce de Leche.

In just a little while I'm off to Culver City to see L.C. at Thinkspace.

eek! I'm kind of nervous  -_-

I also finished my June painting yesterday morning.

I finished the first layer of my June painting.

I took friday night off to allow the oil paint to dry 

and for some much needed rest (for my brain and my wrist).

Landscape and other news

After over twenty hours of work,

ladies and gentlemen,

without further adieu,

I present to you 

my landscape.

This painting in particular was quite a feat.

I found that it's difficult to jump back into a painting 

 after a year without progress.

I'm just in a different place I was when I began to paint it. 

When I started painting this piece, 

I was still fairly new to painting with oil and I had a very old

collection of cheap brushes. 

Overall, I like how It turned out. Of course there are still things I 

would like to fix, but I have to move on.

In other news, I had strep throat for an entire week.

Which means I'm seven days behind on my June painting and

I'm going to have to bust my butt for the remainder of the month.

I will put up the entry post for my June giveaway 

later this week and might extend the giveaway 

into the first week of July. we'll see...

I'm going to be in a juried art show 

put on by the National Arts Program

at the Superior Court of California

thanks to my wonderful step-monster Michele ;)

 I entered these two in the contest.

I will be attending the ceremony on July 22nd at 12 pm.

The exhibit will be up from July 1st until August.

ahhh, the never ending landscape. I feel like I'll be working on 

one little section for hours upon hours and 

nothing ever gets done. That's just how I feel. 

The truth is, I'm almost finished!

I have until the end of this weekend, then time's up.

Here are a few peeks. or peaks, which ever you prefer.

three things...

1. On July 3rd, Dulce de Leche will be performing at the Ace hotel 

in Palm Springs for Tom Tom Magazine's issue 6 release party.

 I'm excited about this because 

we will be performing alongside our friends Sister Rogers,

and because I play a tom tom in Dulce de Leche as well as killsonic.

Secondhand Haunts

Tomorrow is my 25th Birthday!!!

Last Monday, as an early birthday present,

My Grandfather (dad's dad)

gave me my grandmother's favorite diamond necklace.

It's from the early 50's and she wore it almost every day.

I love when my old treasures have such a personal history :)

My grandfather has been waiting 15 years to give 

me the diamond necklace. In my grandmother's honor,

I'm wearing the necklace for one week.

The last day being my birthday.

On friday, I purchased a new printer.this one. 

After many frustrating trips to Kinkos, and a short stint 

of trying to find a professional printer (as in the occupation),

I decided the best thing for me 

to do was invest in a printer (as in the machine)

and become a master of printing my own art work.

As of today, I have two prints up for sale
