Secondhand Haunts

One of my favorite things to do is treasure hunt in thrift stores and flea markets.

Tune in every Sunday to see what I've found :)

Kato and the Lonely Monk

Esau Rosales, the creator of my website and and one of the the best shutterbugs I know, took both these photos. The first, me. In my studio. The second is the cast of TONGUES BLOODY TONGUES

Esau, good luck to you and your adventures in Big Sur. I hope your stories don't end up lost forever in the belly of a hungry bear. -ash

August giveaway

Every month I plan to give away a painting, drawing, a sketch, etc. to one lucky reader. All you have to do is answer this question...
When you were six, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Leave a comment below and the winner will be announced by September 1st.

To be fair, I'll put all the answers into a bowl and choose one. Unless of course only one person responds...Then they will win by default :)

The Painting above is oil on illustration board and is almost 5x7.

Pa Zë and the Baisajyaprabhas

I will be performing as a baisajyaprabha under the improvisational orchestration of Pa Zë.
This event takes place on Sunday August 22nd at the Tribal cafe(1631 w. temple street 90026) in Los Angeles. This electro-acoustic show starts at 7pm and we play at 930 pm. Oh, and It's FREE!!! :)
The watercolor above is a recreation I did of Bryan Diaz Diaz (Pa Zë) a few years ago for a school assignment. It's my interpretation of Pablo Picasso's The Old Guitarist.
