Life inside of a bell jar

I finally finished my first creature sculpture.
It's not perfect, but I'll get better in time.

Jose gave me this glorious bell jar for Christmas.
It's become one of my most treasured possessions.
I feel like a mad scientist :)

Secondhand Haunts XIIII

While searching Sherman Way for some last minute gifts,
I found a new thrift store!
The owner is from Australia.
I forget what the name of the store is,
but I'll be going back and let you know.

I found this charming little painting for $2.00
The artists name is hard to make out,
but the last name is Paulson.
It's an original painting,
but the title is "Flavia" copy.

Hope everyone had a Happy Christmas,
and a wonderful birthday, If It was your birthday.

sad face

Just got home from lovely San Fransisco.
more to come later this week.

The colors on the victorian houses near Haight street
were one of my favorite parts of SF.
source unknown

but on a sad note,
I will not be doing a December giveaway :(

 January's should be spectacular!

My first moleskine

I've been in the market for a few weeks,
But nothing I found lived up to
my most recent (and currently filled) sketch book.
The other day I was in my favorite art store
and a small bright red book caught my eye.
I had heard the name "moleskine
several times, and finally decided to buy one.

Its smaller than I would like, but perfect for travel
(I'm leaving for San Francisco on friday!!!)
I hope to post a sketch each week.

and it comes with a sweet little back pocket :)
