Little Ghosts

I wanted to do an experiment, I had finished all of the main pieces for my show, that I spent the majority of my time on since January. I dug into my vast frame collection and pulled out 13 frames to fill with simple little ghosts. My goal was to see how fast I could paint, how may I could finish before I had to hang the show, and to sell them for dirt cheap. They ranged in price from $35-$60 It took me two weeks, but I finished! here is the result. These little guys went very fast. Almost half of them sold before the show even opened!

Waking from hibernation

Hello again! We have sooo much to catch up on. First off, my "ghosts" show was amazing. I sold everything but three pieces! I had a total of 20. Some I sold before, and some I sold after, but overall, I'd say it was wildly successful. Here are some photos from the opening. Lemeleon's Ghost is pictured above, and Asio Plumi's Ghost is pictured at the end of this post. I didn't get a chance to share those before time swept me off to sea.

Flyer

September 20th is nearly here! I'm kind of freaking out. Just a little bit though. I'm pretty excited about this flyer I just made, and can't wait to see what it looks like printed. The show is going to be during the Canoga Park art walk, and a few of my friends bands are going to play. I'm excited, but kind of overwhelmed. I still have a ridiculous amount of painting to do, and tons of planning...wish me luck! The bands I have so far are, El Haru Kuroi, Sunrise Owl, and Astral Jubilee.

Aguecko's Ghost

I'm so happy I can finally move on from this piece. I have been working on this piece for two months? Granted, I did take a break for two weeks straight to craft and plan my Fantastic Mr. Fox birthday party. A sacrifice that was well worth the fun that transpired. I have already started to prep my next two paintings. I'm going to be working on them simultaneously. Last year I worked on October and November at the same time because I had to have December finished before my solo show in November. Most oil painters work on multiple paintings at the same time, but I guess i'm just, different. I like to give my soul to one narrative at a time.

Fantastic Ash Birthday Bash

For my Birthday this year, I wanted to have a themed party. A Fantastic Mr. Fox themed party! My friend Vanessa and I spent countless hours texting ideas back and forth for two weeks. We met up and crafted, and watched the movie repeatedly. While it was an insane amount of work, it was ridiculously fun, and I can't wait until next year ;) After June, Vanessa and I also planned a Rockabilly themed premiere party and are slowly planning my art show in September. Here are my favorite pictures from that magical night. Thank you so much to my mom, Jordan, Shannon, Jose, Jorge, and especially Vanessa.
