The curiously strange world of Jeffery Kibbe

As soon as the recording session was finished,
We walked outside to find Highland Park in the midst
of their monthly Art Crawl.

Erica, the other tom to my tom
(together we make up the tom-toms in the drum section of Killsonic)
Suggested we all go and check out this artist
named Jeffery Kibbe, who is a collector.
He only opens up his space once a month for the art crawl.

His exhibit was stunning (a bit creepy), but altogether amazing.
He had collections of puzzle pieces that he layered
to make giant instillations that towered down from
lofty ceilings. It made me feel like I was underwater.

There were taxidermed creatures
 (once alive and fabricated),
Funhouse mirrors, surgical utensils, bottle caps, a giant
metal gyroscope, just anything you could imagine, and anything
your imagination could imagine. The best part of it was that
he made things out of these found objects.
Like chairs, and lamps, and tables.

Everything was antique.
He had the most beautiful collection of old treasures.
Every month he features a new artist in the front room.
I'm kicking myself for not writing his name down...
